Thanks

Thank you for the tips. I’m heading to Scotland this holiday. After looking up on the Ibis’ price, the link leads to the page where it starts at £120 per night. Please share how you got the £44 per night deal? Thanks a ton~~

I would recommend Camera Obscura as well, and if you’re looking for something more ‘adventurous’, go up Arthur’s Seat for some panoramic views of Edinburgh. Going on a ghost tour is also a must when in Edinburgh!

The train from Newcastle is only an hour and because I bought my tickets in the sale got them for £10 return! I’m looking forward to lunch at Tom Kitchin’s restaurant and hoping to visit Camera Obscura which is a fascinating place to spend a few hours. Will hopefully get to do a bit of shopping at Jenners too. I also love that Edinburgh has a zoo but doubt we’ll have time to go on this occasion x

We did many of the same ones on our recent four night stay in Edinburgh. What a lovely city. I’ll definitely be back. The history, with just a smidgen of eeriness around every corner, hooked me in.

First thing is absolutely the way to go for Edinburgh Castle. We were actually the first two people in the castle for 2016! One of the staff members shook our hand, wished us a Happy New Year, and gave us a little gift of a Scotland calendar and shortbread. It was great! And then we headed straight up to the top and practically had the place to ourselves. We were the only ones viewing the crown jewels, royal apartments, great hall, and the memorials for the wars. Eventually the rest of the crowd caught up with us but was nice for the first 30 minutes or so to practically wander by ourselves. After all that exploring I’d recommend the scones, clotted cream, and raspberry jam in the little cafe by the cannon they fire at 1:00. It was sooooo delicious with a cup of tea.

Reliving all that now has me itching to get back sooner than later!
